MG Jesta Cannon build retrospective

This is my 10th build for 2023. I got this kit whilst I was holidaying in Malaysia back in 2018 and it was recently voted by my Patrons for a build. The Jesta is a design loved by many and after building it I can totally agree. It’s got a very Special Ops look to it and the Cannon variant looks even chunkier with the added shoulder and leg armor, not to mention that ridiculously beefy beam rifle.

Out of the box the colours of the armour are kind of bluish, however all the reference images of the Jesta I’ve seen from the anime tend to depict it being a bit more purplish. I wanted my build to reflect this and therefore most of the paint mixes have some kind of purple in them.

My only gripe with this kit is that they use those horrible emotion manipulators that Bandai used on most of the larger kits during this time period. They have some pretty bad mold lines and nubs that are hard to clean, and the fingers tend to pop out very easily. Other than that it’s a pretty solid build with very few mold lines and no seams.
